This was my first new house after graduating from university. I was nervous, but determined, to do a good job. Lovingly detailed but not overwrought or precious, the North Avoca House was an extension to an existing bungalow, an opportunity to explore ideas around materials and family life. 

The project was about softening the angular lines of the existing house and providing privacy and protection from harsh coastal winds and rain.

My love for giving projects a nice head of hair begun with this house.
